Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and experienced Senior Care Assistants to join our dedicated team and cover shifts within reputable care homes. The successful candidates will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our residents, supporting their daily needs, and supervising junior staff. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with leadership qualities and a genuine passion for senior care to make a positive impact in residents' lives. A valid driving licence is preferred, if outside the Stockton areas.
Duties
- Provide personalised care to residents, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being is prioritised at all times
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility
- Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members
- Supervise and support junior care staff, fostering a team environment that promotes excellent standards of care
- Monitor residents’ health and report any changes or concerns to the nurse in charge or appropriate external healthcare providers
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided using IT systems and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Support residents in social activities and encourage participation to promote mental well-being
- Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the care environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
Qualifications
- Proven experience in senior care or working within a care home setting
- Supervising experience or leadership qualities demonstrating ability to oversee junior staff effectively
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Competent IT skills for maintaining accurate records and updating care plans digitally
- Driving licence is desirable if outside the Stockton, Middlesbrough, Darlington, Bishop Auckland areas.
- Knowledge of care plans, safeguarding procedures, and regulatory compliance within senior care settings
- Mandatory manual handling training (practical)
- Mandatory medication administration training (practical)

Pay: £14.00-£17.00 per hour
