We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff in food preparation and service. Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, pots, and pans
- Support chefs during service by ensuring that all necessary equipment and ingredients are readily available
- Help with the storage of food items, ensuring proper rotation and adherence to health and safety standards
- Clean kitchen equipment and utensils as required, following hygiene protocols
- Assist in maintaining stock levels by reporting shortages to the kitchen management
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operation during busy periods
Qualifications
- Previous experience is preferred
- Basic culinary skills or knowledge of food preparation techniques would be advantageous
- Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn and develop skills in cooking and hospitality
- Ability to work efficiently
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude
- Good communication skills to effectively interact with team members
