We are seeking an Experienced uPVC Window and Door Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. This role requires a skilled professional who can confidently manage the fabrication process from raw profile to finished product. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience, a deep understanding of uPVC systems, and the ability to work independently with high speed and precision.
Core Responsibilities
- Profile Prep: Measure, cut, and prep uPVC profiles using manual saws and automated CNC cutting centres.
- Steel Reinforcing: Cut and insert steel or aluminium reinforcing bars into uPVC chambers as required by the spec.
- Welding & Corner Cleaning: Operate uPVC welding machines to fuse frames and utilise corner cleaners for a flush, professional finish.
- Hardware Gearing: Fit multi-point locks, friction stays, hinges, handles, and euro-cylinders to sashes and frames.
- Gasket & Bead Fitting: Roll in rubber gaskets and cut/snap-in uPVC glazing beads neatly.
- Quality Auditing: Check weld strength, frame squareness, and hardware functionality before signing off for dispatch.
- Advanced Fabrication: Run all stages of the uPVC line, including cutting, steel reinforcing, welding, corner cleaning, and mechanical jointing.
Requirements & Skills
- Experience: Hands-on experience in a uPVC window and door manufacturing facility is required.
- Machinery Knowledge: Experience operating uPVC twin-head saws, welders, and corner cleaners.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to follow automated digital cutting lists and technical assembly worksheets.
- Teamwork: Ability to work efficiently as part of a fast-paced, sequential assembly line.
