Overview
We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to support schools and students within our educational environment. This role involves working closely with children, including those with special educational needs and disabilities, to foster an inclusive and nurturing learning atmosphere. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in education, excellent communication skills, and experience working with children and individuals with autism or other disabilities. Duties
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to diverse learning needs
- Support students with special educational requirements, including those with autism or other disabilities
- Provide one-on-one tutoring and mentoring to help students achieve their academic goals
- Foster a positive learning environment by encouraging participation and confidence among pupils
- Help manage classroom behaviour and ensure the safety of all students during activities
- Support students with organisational tasks, such as preparing materials or setting up learning stations
- Communicate effectively with pupils, teachers, and parents to monitor progress and address individual needs
- Assist in implementing personalised education plans for students requiring additional support
Requirements
- Experience working with children in educational or mentoring settings
- Knowledge of special education principles and strategies for working with individuals with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with students and staff
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting diverse learners
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Previous experience in tutoring or mentoring is desirable but not essential
- Relevant qualifications or training related to special education or child development are advantageous
