Morgan McVeighs is an independently owned rural business situated on the A96 midway between Inverurie and Huntly. We are open 9am to 4pm daily serving traditional breakfasts, hearty lunches, sandwiches, toasties etc and snacks and home bakes. The majority of our baking is done in house.
We are looking for a part time assistant cook to join our existing team. We offer flexible daytime working hours, a competitive salary based on experience with paid breaks and the opportunity to work in a small kitchen as part of a friendly team. We need someone who is available to work two to three days a week.
Since we are in a rural location it is essential you have your own transport. We also require you live within a 20 mile radius of our restaurant.
Experience
You must have previous cooking experience in a busy commercial kitchen. You need to be familiar with kitchen hygiene and safety requirements, including Cooksafe procedures. Previous experience of baking would be useful but is not essential. You must enjoy working as part of a team and be able to assist in keeping a busy daytime kitchen running smoothly.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for assisting with the cooking and preparation of breakfasts and lunches in accordance with established recipes and ensuring the food is presented in a visually attractive and consistent manner. You need to maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness. Collaboration and respectful communication with other Cooks and kitchen staff is important as is the willingness to help out others when nesessary. Sharing the role of monitoring kitchen stock levels is expected and ordering from our pool of suppliers as required.
Job Types: Permanent, Part-time
Pay: £14.50-£16.50 per hour
Expected hours: 16.0 – 24.0 per week
