We are looking for an experienced Reporting Manager to join our Defence team in Reading or London, supporting the delivery of a major programme within a highly regulated environment. Working as part of an integrated programme delivery team, you will play a key role in supporting project controls, governance and reporting activities, ensuring accurate information, effective stakeholder engagement and robust programme oversight. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a complex defence programme while driving high standards of reporting, coordination and continuous improvement.
Due to the security requirements of the role, candidates must have SC clearance or eligibility to obtain and maintain Security Clearance
You’ll be responsible for:
- Acting as the focal point for the project’s month end reports, across portfolio, programme, PMO, supply chain and senior management
- Producing accurate and timely project reporting information. Ensuring that others contribute to the project reporting process on time, every month.
- Supporting project controls governance, change control and baseline management activities.
- Representing project interests as part of wider reporting continuous improvement initiatives within the wider programme and portfolio.
- Directing ad hoc requests for new/ dashboards or amendments to dashboards and coordinating development with Power BI/ Technical experts.
- Influencing wider stakeholder buy-in and adoption of new reporting processes or tools to enable enhanced visibility and understanding of project progress.
- Support in maintaining reporting project archive folders and files.
- Liaising with Project Managers, the Integration Director and Project Controls Manager to support delivery.
- Identifying opportunities to improve reporting processes and project controls performance.
- Providing project controls support to the Project Manager and wider delivery team.
- Organising and coordinating governance forums and project meetings.
- Maintaining the project calendar and reporting schedule.
- Attending key project meetings and capturing decisions, actions and outputs.
- Tracking actions and escalations and ensuring timely completion by relevant stakeholders.
You’ll need to have:
- Demonstrated experience within a project controls, PMO or project management environment
- Excellent communication skills & an inquisitive nature - able to engage with a wide variety of people, listen to project updates and simplify for succinct reporting at various levels of the organisation.
- Knowledge of project controls processes, including reporting, risk, cost, schedule and change management.
- An interest and desire to develop your career within project controls.
- Experience using reporting tools (Power BI, Foundry, Excel) and managing project data.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to validate and assure information accuracy.
- Experience maintaining trackers, actions, management information and reporting outputs.
- Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills within complex project environments.
- Experience within Defence, Nuclear, Construction or other highly regulated sectors is desirable. Knowledge of NEC contracts would be advantageous.
