Based in Fairfield House, Dalkeith, you will process invoices on the purchase ledger system, including those of a more complex nature, e.g. Construction Industry Tax deductions. You will help ensure the Council maintains VAT compliance, provide support to colleagues across the Council on supplier payments and respond to queries from suppliers. You will also support the administration of purchasing cards and undertake payment runs in the absence of the Payments Team Leader.
Hybrid working is available although there is an expectation for this role that you will be in the office regularly.

KNOWLEDGE
Five credit passes at national 5/standard or o grade level, or equivalent, including English and Arithmetic.
Accuracy, numeracy and computer keyboard skills are essential to this post.
Jobholders must have previous experience of working in Accounts Payable or similar office environment.
Knowledge of VAT and Construction Industry Tax is desirable.
Previous experience of Purchase Ledger/Finance IT systems/applications is desirable.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications especially Microsoft Excel and Word are desirable, evidence of competency in these areas is an acceptable alternative.
