The New Inn is located in the rural market town of Penistone, Sheffield. We are an independently owned gastro pub with a Tepee located to the rear for events, aswell as a 100 seater capacity function room where we host 15-20 weddings per annum.
2027 will see the expansion of the business to a Gastro pub with accommodation. The addition of 7 luxury lettings rooms will boost and elevate the profile of the business. The focus of the business at this point will be to then turn the business in to a destination venue, not just one for the local community.
This role offers a great combination of day, evening, and weekend shifts meaning more sociable hours for you to enjoy your life as well as your work! Hours can be very flexible so long as the kitchen is run smoothly and performs well.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, skilled head chef to join our kitchen team, who is a team player, wants to learn and develop their skills even further, are hardworking and have great eye for detail. We will look to you to deliver our menus which offer something for everyone! Part of your role will include input with new menu development, and help to keep our menu fresh and exciting for all. Responsibilities
· Lead and supervise the kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
· Oversee all food production processes, ensuring high-quality dishes are prepared consistently.
· Help develop creative menus that reflect current trends while considering guest preferences.
· Manage food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring efficiency and adherence to recipes.
· Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and organised kitchen.
· Train and mentor kitchen staff in culinary techniques, food safety practices, and service standards.
· Collaborate with management to optimise kitchen operations and control costs effectively.
· Maintain inventory levels of food supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary.
Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role within the restaurant industry.
Strong culinary skills with extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques.
In-depth understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality.
Previous experience in high-volume kitchens is preferred, demonstrating strong organisational skills.
