Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to join our hospitality team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for guests, ensuring they receive a warm welcome and a memorable experience. This role involves managing reservations, coordinating seating arrangements, and providing excellent guest services in a dynamic environment. Previous experience in the hospitality or restaurant industry is preferred, but a positive attitude and strong communication skills are essential. Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage their seating arrangements efficiently
- Handle reservations and waitlist management using the booking system
- Provide guests with menus and answer any initial questions about the offerings
- Maintain a clean and organised reception area to ensure a welcoming atmosphere
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen and service staff to coordinate guest needs
- Manage guest queries politely via phone or in person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette
- Assist with guest departures by thanking them for their visit and ensuring satisfaction
- Support the team during busy periods by assisting with basic service tasks as needed
Skills
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is advantageous
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on courteous interaction
- Knowledge of guest services standards within hotels or restaurants is desirable
- Excellent phone etiquette and organisational abilities
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle multiple tasks efficiently
- A friendly demeanour with a genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer service
- Flexibility to work during peak hours, including evenings and weekends if required
