Geotechnical Advisor - Upto £60k - Barnsley
Due to expansion our client is looking for an experienced individual with a background in Earthworks/Groundworks, ideally with previous responsibility for managing field and laboratory testing.
The role of Geotechnical Advisor -
Manage and coordinate onsite earthworks testing activities.
Liaise with external laboratories and testing providers.
Manage field testers and ensure testing is completed in accordance with project specifications and ITP requirements.
Review earthworks specifications and assist with the preparation and management of Inspection and Testing Plans.
Maintain QA records, testing documentation and trackers.
Ensure testing requirements are planned in advance and that potential QA issues are identified before they impact the works.
Coordinate testing results, laboratory reports and site documentation to ensure complete and accurate QA records.
Work closely with site management, engineering teams, laboratories and testing personnel.

The person -
Previous experience within Earthworks, Groundworks or Civil Engineering.
Experience undertaking field testing or managing onsite testers.
Experience coordinating laboratory and site testing.
A good understanding of earthworks specifications and QA requirements.
Experience working with Inspection and Testing Plans (ITPs), or the technical ability to learn how to produce them.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including creating and maintaining testing trackers.
Basic or intermediate AutoCAD skills, particularly for producing testing grids and plans.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
A proactive approach to QA, with the ability to identify potential issues and ensure testing and documentation are completed correctly and on time.
