We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Playgroup Deputy Leader to join our early childhood education team. This roleis ideal for someone who is passionate about earlychildhood education, thrives in a nurturing environmentand is ready to support the leadership and developmentof a high quality earky years setting. As a Deputy Leader you will work closely with the Preschool Leader to ensure the smooth running of the setting, uphold best practice and create a warm inclusive atmosphere where every child can flourish
Duties
- Support the day to day leadership and management of the playgroup
- Model high quality interactions and child centered practice
- Lead on observations, assessment and planning in line with N.I Preschool Curriculumfor preschool education
- Ensure a safe, stimulating and caring environmentfor all children
- Build strong relationships with families,staff and external professionals
- Step into leaderrole when required.
Experience
Level 5 Early Childhood Studies (or equivalent,as recongised by the Department of Education)( Wewill accept applicants who are enrolled or near completion of level 5 Early Years Training)
At least 1 year of managerialor supervisoryexperience as a Deputy or Leader in an Early Years Setting
Strong knowledge of N.I preschool curriculum and demonstrate experience on observation,assessment and planning in an Early Years Setting
Understanding of child protection and safeguarding
Ability to work as ateam with the aim to support child centred learning and assist with the management of the preschool learning environment and meet the needs of all the children in the setting
Specific experience of working with children with SEN and demonstratewhat that looks like in an EarlyYears setting
Specfic Training linked to SEN such as - Speech, language and communication needs - Cognitive and Learning-Social, Emotional and Wellbeing-sensoryNeeds-Physical Needs
Designated Child Protection Officer Training
Experience of leading staff meetings and sgaring important information in a professional manner
Pay: From £13.50 per hour
Work Location: In person
