Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Healthcare Assistant / Healthcare Assistant / Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care within a care home environment, supporting residents with their daily needs and ensuring their well-being. The role involves supervising junior staff, implementing care plans, and maintaining effective communication with residents, families, and the wider healthcare team. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation needs.
Duties
- Provide personalised care to residents, assisting with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support
- Support the implementation and review of individualised care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
- Supervise and mentor junior care staff, fostering a supportive and professional environment
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns to senior staff promptly
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided using IT systems
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care delivery
- Assist with organising activities that promote residents’ social engagement and mental wellbeing
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and infection control protocols
Qualifications
- Previous experience working within a care home or senior care setting is highly desirable
- Supervising or leadership experience within healthcare environments is advantageous
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, essential for effective interaction with residents and team members
- IT literacy skills for maintaining accurate records and updating electronic care plans
- Driving licence preferred to support transportation requirements
- Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in supporting vulnerable adults
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs within the care setting

Pay: £30,420.00-£40,786.82 per year
