Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Locum Pharmacist to join our healthcare team on a temporary basis. Duties
- Dispensing prescriptions accurately and efficiently, adhering to legal and organisational guidelines
- Providing expert advice to healthcare professionals and patients regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions
- Monitoring patient medication regimens, particularly in critical care settings such as ICU, ensuring safe administration
- Assisting with medication administration procedures and supporting patient care initiatives
- Maintaining meticulous records of prescriptions, medication inventories, and patient interactions
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimise treatment plans and improve patient outcomes
- Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations within the pharmacy environment
- Participating in clinical audits and quality assurance activities to uphold high standards of service
Requirements
- Fully qualified Pharmacist with registration recognised by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) or relevant regulatory body
- Proven ICU experience demonstrating ability to manage complex medication regimens in critical care environments
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, pharmacology, and medication administration protocols
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach towards diverse patient needs
- Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication within multidisciplinary teams
- Organised with keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in dispensing and record keeping
- Flexibility to adapt to varying shift patterns as required for locum roles
