We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Driver’s Mate and Jetvac Operator to join their transport and operations team based in Denstone.
This is a hands-on role supporting drivers with liquid waste collection and delivery across the UK, using specialist vehicles including Jetvac units, tankers, and articulated vehicles. You will also assist with drain clearance, yard duties, and general operational tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting drivers with liquid waste collection and delivery
- Supporting drain clearance and blockage removal
- Ensuring safe working practices in line with H&S requirements
- Liaising with customers on site
- Maintaining cleanliness of vehicles and equipment
- Tank cleansing and tank washing
- Manual handling and labouring duties
- Yard maintenance and general yard duties
- Parts collections and deliveries
- Workshop assistance when required
- Van driving as required
- Working effectively as part of a team
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday (hours vary depending on workload)
- Minimum 2 weekends per month required
- Occasional night work and nights out (by prior arrangement)
- All hours worked in line with Driver Hours and the Working Time Directive
Requirements
- Full UK car driving licence
- Maximum of 6 points (insurance requirement)
- Minimum age 21
- Strong work ethic and reliable timekeeping
- Good communication skills
- Flexible and adaptable with working hours
- Ability to follow instructions and learn on the job
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions (PPE provided)
No experience or qualifications required – full training provided.
