Job Summary
We are seeking a professional HGV Driver Class 1 to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service. Duties
- Operate flatbed lorries and other HGV vehicles in compliance with all legal and safety regulations
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure punctuality
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper securing of cargo during transit
- Conduct pre-journey vehicle inspections and report any defects or issues
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Adhere to all road safety laws and company policies at all times
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and requirements
- Assist with manoeuvring vehicles in tight spaces when necessary
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for HGV operation
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
- Previous delivery driver experience preferred, demonstrating reliability and punctuality
- Ability to operate flatbed lorries safely and efficiently
- Good organisational skills to manage schedules and documentation effectively
- Physically fit to handle loading/unloading tasks when required
