Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Fishmonger/Production Operative to join our team. This role involves preparing, processing & packing fresh fish and seafood products in a fast-paced environment, ensuring high standards of quality and food safety. The successful candidate will play a vital part in delivering fresh, top-quality products to our customers working in our custom built fish processing premises. Previous experience in fish production, butchery or food preparation is advantageous, but full training will be provided for the right applicant. Responsibilities
- Prepare, process & pack fish and seafood products according to company standards for customer orders.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Assist with the production of fresh fish & seafood orders, including filleting, portioning, and packaging.
- Ensure all products are stored correctly at appropriate temperatures.
- Support the team in stock rotation and inventory management.
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently during all tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of product handling and processing activities.
Skills
- Experience or knowledge in food production, culinary arts, or kitchen environments is desirable.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices in handling fresh fish & seafood.
- Knife Skills in fishmongery, butchery or food preparation are advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with organisational skills to ensure cleanliness and compliance.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Good numeracy & literacy skills are vital.
- Willingness to learn new techniques and adhere to health & safety regulations.
