Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Solar PV Installer 1 x Roofer, 1 x ElectricIan) to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for installing photovoltaic solar systems on various types of structures, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality standards are met. Duties
- Install solar photovoltaic panels on rooftops, ground mounts, or other designated locations following technical specifications and safety protocols.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to assemble mounting systems and connect electrical components.
- Conduct site assessments to determine optimal placement and ensure structural integrity before installation.
- Perform wiring, grounding, and connection of solar modules to existing electrical systems in compliance with electrical codes.
- Assist with the setup and operation of excavation equipment such as excavators where necessary for ground-mounted systems.
- Apply welding techniques when required for mounting structures or reinforcing frameworks.
- Conduct inspections of installed systems to verify proper operation and adherence to quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Skills
- Experience with excavators or heavy machinery is advantageous.
- Proficiency in welding techniques relevant to mounting system assembly is desirable.
- Skilled in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with an understanding of structural components and assembly processes.
- Electrical experience or background knowledge of electrical wiring, grounding, and safety standards is highly beneficial.
- Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and installation manuals accurately.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team under time constraints.
