Run our Liverpool centre, and own the teaching in it
Robocode teaches coding, robotics, AI and game development to children aged 6 to 17. We are Ofsted-registered, accredited by Microsoft, BCS, AQA and WJEC, and growing fast. We are looking for a Centre Manager with a genuine education background: someone who can run a brilliant building and walk into any classroom and make the lesson better.
You lead a small on-site team (a Sales & Marketing Coordinator and a Front Desk & Family Coordinator), you fully line manage our teaching Mentors, you are the centre's designated safeguarding lead, and you own teaching quality on site: observing lessons, holding teachers to our curriculum, and teaching a small share of the timetable yourself to stay sharp and credible.
What you'll do
- Own teaching quality: observe lessons regularly, give teachers clear feedback, induct and train new Mentors before they teach unsupervised, and keep delivery faithful to our central curriculum
- Teach a small share of the timetable personally, and step into a class competently when cover demands it
- Be the centre's designated safeguarding lead: welfare concerns, child handovers, building access and audit-ready records all sit with you
- Run daily operations: readiness checks before classes, accurate registers and booking records every day, cover cascades when a teacher is absent, no class ever missed
- Lead and fully line manage the centre team, including teaching staff: recruitment input, rotas, conduct, quality and development
- Be the senior point of contact for parents: complaints handled properly, every absent child's family called the same day
- Own the money at centre level: fees monitored, arrears chased consistently, invoices accurate
- Grow the centre: weekly enrolment reviews, local school and community relationships, a reputation you actively protect
What we're looking for
- A genuine education background: teaching, tutoring or leading learning for children, with the credibility to observe a lesson and improve it
- Experience managing people and a customer-facing operation: a school, centre, nursery or similar
- Confident enough with technology to learn our courses and teach them; a STEM, coding or computing background is a strong advantage
- Organised and process driven, with genuine respect for accurate records
- Calm under pressure, decisive, warm with families, firm and fair with staff
- Comfortable with numbers: fees, arrears, refunds, basic reporting
- Able to work full time on site, including weekday evenings and Saturdays
- Right to work in the UK
Nice to have: experience teaching coding, robotics or STEM specifically; local connections to schools and families; experience with booking or CRM systems.
