We’re looking for a Principal – Data Centre Energy & Power to join our team in London, United Kingdom in a hybrid working mode.
This senior leadership role focuses on developing grid-to-compute power strategies for hyperscale and AI data centres. You will act as EPAM’s subject matter expert on power architecture, grid connectivity, BESS, microgrids and AI-driven energy optimisation, helping clients address critical infrastructure and sustainability challenges through digital and software-enabled solutions.
Responsibilities

Advise on end-to-end power strategy, including grid connections, substations, microgrids and high-density AI/HPC loads
- Define optimisation solutions integrating EMS, EPMS, SCADA and AI-driven forecasting for load and capacity planning
- Design architectures bridging OT systems, market APIs and cloud environments to enable predictive analytics and intelligent energy management
- Drive business growth through client pursuits, repeatable offerings and strategic partnerships with utilities and OEMs
- Represent EPAM within industry forums and track emerging technologies such as SMRs, fuel cells and liquid cooling
Requirements

12+ years of experience in data centre power systems, grid operations, BESS or EMS domains
- Deep technical knowledge of electrical architectures, interconnection challenges and OT ecosystems
- Proven consulting experience with strong pre-sales capability and executive-level engagement
- Ability to translate power and infrastructure challenges into scalable digital and AI-driven solutions
Nice to have

Experience with hyperscale data centres, leading EMS/BESS platforms (e.g., Fluence, Wärtsilä GEMS, Tesla Autobidder) and OEM ecosystems (Schneider, Siemens, ABB, Vertiv)
- Familiarity with energy trading, OT cybersecurity (IEC 62443), PUE and sustainability reporting standards
