Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Van Driver to travel around the UK, on an ad hoc basis, flexible hours.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of light vehicles, towing them around the UK, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic regulations. This role requires excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of vehicle maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
Ideally, the potential candidate has previous experience experience in towing either caravans or flatbeds, as this is an important part of this business.
Duties
- Operate a van for the delivery of goods to various locations, ensuring timely arrival.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring that all items are secured properly.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and communicate effectively with warehouse staff regarding any issues or delays.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, addressing any inquiries or concerns from clients.
- Assist with warehouse duties as needed, including inventory management and organisation of stock.
- Utilise mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on the vehicle.
Requirements
- Valid driving licence with a clean driving record; experience as a Van Driver is preferred.
- Towing Experience
- Familiarity with flatbed operations is an advantage.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to assist with vehicle upkeep.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Physical stamina to handle loading and unloading tasks.
