Due to the continued growth and success of Highfield House Nursery, we are excited to be expanding our provision across two dedicated buildings – a Baby Unit and a Preschool Building. As a result, we are looking for an experienced and passionate Deputy Nursery Manager to oversee our Preschool Building and support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day leadership of the setting.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious early years professional who is ready to take the next step in their career and play a key role in shaping an outstanding learning environment for children aged 3–5 years.
About the Role
As Deputy Nursery Manager, you will have responsibility for the operational and educational oversight of our Preschool Building, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, teaching, and learning are consistently delivered.
Working closely with the Nursery Manager and wider leadership team, you will lead, support, and inspire staff while fostering positive relationships with children, families, and external professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the Preschool Building.
- Support the Nursery Manager with the overall running of the nursery.
- Ensure full compliance with EYFS, safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Coach, mentor, and develop members of the preschool team.
- Monitor children's learning, development, and progress to ensure excellent outcomes.
- Build strong partnerships with parents and carers.
- Contribute to occupancy growth and maintain exceptional customer service standards.
- Support recruitment, staff supervision, inductions, and performance management.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and child-centred culture throughout the setting.
What We're Looking For
- Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (minimum).
- Previous experience in a senior room leader, third in charge, deputy manager, or similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- A proactive and positive approach to supporting teams and driving quality improvement.
- Passion for delivering outstanding care and education for young children.
