The Black Horse Inn is a busy, family-run country pub with a fantastic reputation for serving quality homemade food in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
Due to one of our valued chefs relocating, we have an exciting opportunity for a full-time chef to join our kitchen team.
We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys cooking, takes pride in their work and wants to be part of a supportive, hardworking team.
What you’ll be doing
- Preparing and cooking fresh, homemade dishes to a consistently high standard
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
- Working efficiently during busy service periods
- Assisting with stock rotation and minimising waste
- Helping with food preparation and kitchen organisation
- Following recipes while also contributing ideas for daily specials and menu development
- Supporting your fellow chefs and maintaining a positive working environment
- Ensuring every plate leaving the kitchen is something you’re proud of
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience working in a professional kitchen
- Passion for cooking quality homemade food
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Calm under pressure during busy services
- High standards of cleanliness and organisation
- A positive attitude with excellent teamwork skills
- Ability to work evenings and weekends on a fixed rota
- Someone who takes pride in producing consistently excellent food

- Competitive pay £14.50 per hour (depending on experience)
