Responsibilities
- Operate vehicles in a safe and responsible manner while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Transport goods and materials to designated locations in a timely manner.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring that it is secured properly for transport.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that may occur during transit.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service when interacting with clients or customers during deliveries.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driving licence (CDL) or equivalent is essential.
- Previous experience in commercial driving is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance on the vehicle.
- Ability to operate various types of vehicles, including those equipped for digging or heavy lifting tasks.
- Excellent organisational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
- A commitment to safety and adherence to all relevant regulations and guidelines.
