Bethel House Care Home at Hebron Hall is looking for a patient, trustworthy, compassionate, and calm Care Assistant to join the team. This role is focused on supporting residents with dignity, respect, and sensitivity, while promoting independence and ensuring their physical, emotional, and personal care needs are met.

The Role
As a Care Assistant, you will support residents with daily living and personal care, helping them to remain safe, comfortable, and engaged in the life of the home. You will deliver care in line with each resident’s assessed needs, abilities, and wishes, always respecting their dignity and promoting independence.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist residents with all aspects of personal care, including washing, dressing, showering, bathing, nail care, shaving, denture care, and toileting
· Monitor residents who experience incontinence and help maintain skin integrity
· Observe and report any risk of skin breakdown or pressure damage
· Serve meals in the dining room and residents’ rooms, providing support at mealtimes where needed
· Help ensure residents’ nutritional needs are met
· Support residents to access communal areas and activities within the home
· Assist residents with individual activities of their choice, including time outdoors on the grounds, while ensuring their safety
· Carry out key worker duties for allocated residents, building positive relationships and spending one-to-one time with them
· Read and follow care plans to provide person-centred support
· Document all interactions with residents thoroughly and confidentially
· Report and record any health concerns or changes to the team leader or management promptly
· Support the safekeeping of residents’ belongings and maintain personal inventory records
· Assist with shopping, including seasonal or personal shopping needs
· Help residents organise their rooms and belongings according to their wishes, while maintaining a safe environment
· Work alongside colleagues to provide sensitive and timely end-of-life care
· Carry out other duties as directed by team leaders or management to support the smooth running of the care home, such as answering the door and welcoming relatives or professionals

A percentage of this training must be completed during the first 3 months of employment as part of the initial probation period and will be taken into account during the probation review.
Pay and Benefits
· £12.75–£13.72 per hour, paid monthly
· £13.72 per hour for candidates qualified in QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care
· Working hours to be negotiated, including evenings and weekends (nights for night staff contracts) depending on contract
· Pension: 5% employee contribution, 7.5% employer contribution
· Life assurance: Death in Service benefit equivalent to 2 years’ salary
· Holiday entitlement: 28 days per annum including public holidays, pro rata
