Senior Nursery Practitioner – Becca's House Day Nursery
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and passionate Senior Nursery Practitioner to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to take the next step in their early years career.
As our nursery continues to grow, we are looking for a practitioner with the potential, ambition, and leadership qualities to develop into a Second-in-Charge (Deputy Manager) role. The successful candidate will work closely alongside the Nursery Manager and leadership team, gaining valuable experience in nursery operations, staff development, compliance, and quality improvement.
This role would suit an experienced Senior Practitioner, Room Leader, or aspiring Deputy Manager who is passionate about delivering exceptional early years education and care within a nurturing, Hygge-inspired environment.
Additional Leadership Responsibilities
Alongside delivering outstanding practice with children, the successful candidate will:
- Support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery.
- Act as a role model for best practice and professional standards.
- Assist with staff supervision, mentoring, and coaching.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of nursery policies and procedures.
- Help maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Contribute to self-evaluation, quality improvement plans, and nursery development projects.
- Take responsibility for leading the nursery in the absence of the Nursery Manager when required.
- Demonstrate the leadership skills and commitment required to progress into a future Second-in-Charge position.
What We're Looking For
In addition to the essential qualifications and experience, we're looking for someone who:
- Demonstrates natural leadership qualities and initiative.
- Is committed to continuous professional development.
- Has aspirations to progress into a management role.
- Can inspire, motivate, and support colleagues.
- Shares our vision for creating a warm, nurturing, Hygge-inspired nursery culture.
- Is excited by the opportunity to help shape and grow a new nursery from the beginning.
