Job Overview
We are looking for caring, reliable, and motivated Support Workers with experience working with children and young adults in residential settings. You will create a safe, nurturing environment, deliver person-centred support in line with individual care plans, promote independence and wellbeing, help children and young adults develop the confidence and skills they need to thrive while always safeguarding their welfare.
Duties
- Provide daily support, personal care, daily living skills, and routines to people with learning disabilities and/or mental health needs
- Offer emotional support and encourage positive mental wellbeing
- Support individuals to access the community, activities and education
- Follow care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support plans
- Promote independence, confidence, and social inclusion
- Support with medication in line with training and policies
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with the wider team
- Uphold safeguarding, health and safety, and organisational policies
Requirements
- 6 months professional experience working in Health and Social care (required)
- Certification in moving + handling, epilepsy awareness and medication administration Is preferred but not essential
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail in managing medication schedules and care routines
- Compassionate nature with strong communication skills and patience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Experience working with children and young adults in a residential setting
