We are a friendly and enthusiastic team looking to recruit a catering assistant to support the catering team to provide the children with nutritious snacks and meals throughout the day. Helping to ensure that the kitchen is always kept to a high standard of cleanliness and organisation as expected by management and the Environmental Health Officers.
The position is offered on a zero-hours support contract to provide cover for staff holidays on an ad hoc basis throughout the year, with the potential for additional shifts during special occasions and event days.
As catering assistant your role will include:
day to day cleaning of the kitchen
food prep from the next day
food stock rotation
sorting and organising fridge and freezers
attending relevant training sessions
completing records which may be required by Environmental Health Officers or Ofsted inspectors carrying out routine inspections or other investigations.
To be considered for the role you will need previous catering experience. Knowledge of the safer food, better business guidelines and a Food Safety & Hygiene qualification is preferred.
