Are you eagle-eyed when it comes to detail and passionate about high standards? We’re looking for a proactive Quality Inspector to join our team on the production floor.
In this hands-on role, you will perform quality inspections across different stages of the production line, accurately recording data to drive consistency and build quality. Acting as the first point of contact for identifying defects early, you’ll collaborate directly with production teams to resolve quality issues in real time.
The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Product Inspection - Check materials, components, and finished products against drawings, specifications, and quality standards within our set cycle time.
In-Process Checks - Monitor quality throughout production to spot issues early and prevent defects.
Recording Results - Complete inspection reports clearly and accurately, logging measurements, defects, and corrective actions.
Non-Conformance Handling - Identify defects, quarantine non-conforming items, and support root-cause investigations.
Communication - Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve issues quickly.
Continuous Improvement - Suggest improvements to processes, standards, or inspection methods.
KPI Support - Support the business to meet and exceed key performance indicators, including right-first-time and cost-of-poor-quality targets.
Health & Safety Compliance - Follow all site safety rules and ensure inspections support safe manufacturing practices.
As a successful candidate you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Attention to Detail - Ability to spot defects, inconsistencies, and measurement errors with a high level of accuracy.
- Technical Understanding - Comfortable reading technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Use of Measuring Tools - Confident using tape measures, gauges, templates, and other inspection equipment.
- Quality Standards Knowledge - Understanding of quality control processes, non-conformance procedures, and right-first-time principles.
- Communication Skills - Able to communicate clearly with production, engineering, and quality teams when raising issues or recommending actions.
- Problem-Solving Ability - Capable of identifying root causes and supporting corrective actions to reduce defects and improve performance.
- Organisation & Time Management - Ability to manage multiple inspections, priorities, and reporting tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Teamwork - Works well with others and supports a positive, quality-focused culture across our business.
- IT Literacy - Able to complete digital inspection records with the use tablets or laptops.
- Manufacturing Experience - Previous experience in a manufacturing or environment is preferred.
- Proactive & Flexible - Proactive and flexible to the needs of the business, adapting to changing priorities and supporting operational demands.
