We cater for a wide range of guests, from regular locals to visitors and those staying in our accommodation. As a small team, we take pride in maintaining high standards throughout the pub and creating an enjoyable experience for everyone who walks through the door.
The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and friendly Front of House / Bar Team Member to join our team.
You will be one of the faces of The Butterleigh Inn, helping to deliver excellent customer service across both our bar and dining areas. We operate full table service throughout the pub, so you will need to be confident interacting with guests, taking orders and providing attentive service from arrival through to departure.
The role is varied, and as a small team we all work together to ensure service runs smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcoming guests in a friendly and professional manner
- Providing attentive, high-quality customer service throughout their visit
- Preparing and serving a wide range of drinks efficiently and accurately
- Taking food and drink orders and providing full table service
- Ensuring guests are well looked after throughout their meal or visit
- Handling cash and card payments responsibly
- Maintaining clean, organised and well-presented bar, dining and Front of House areas
- Clearing and resetting tables efficiently during service
- Restocking supplies and assisting with cellar and stock management where required
- Following all relevant health & safety, licensing and allergen procedures
- Working closely with the kitchen and management teams to ensure a smooth service
- Helping other members of the team and supporting different Front of House areas when required
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is:
- 18 or over, as the role involves serving alcohol
- Experienced in bar, restaurant or hospitality work
- Friendly, confident and comfortable speaking with customers
- Reliable, punctual and well organised
- Hard-working with excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable providing full table service
- Able to work effectively in a busy environment
- A positive and supportive team player
- Flexible and available to work evenings, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays
- Happy to help other members of the team wherever needed
Working as Part of Our Team
As we are a small team, having a good working relationship across both Front and Back of House is very important to us.
We encourage everyone to work together, communicate well and support each other when needed. We will provide training across the relevant areas of Front of House so that team members feel confident and capable of helping throughout the pub.

Getting Here
Please note that The Butterleigh Inn is located in a small countryside village with no public transport. You will therefore need a driving licence and access to transport, or another reliable way of travelling to and from work, particularly for evening and weekend shifts.
