Weighbridge Administrator
Location: Rotherwas, Hereford, with occasional cover at other Wye Valley Group sites
Job type: Full-time, permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, plus Saturday mornings on a rota
The role
Wye Valley Group is looking for an organised, accurate and customer-focused Weighbridge Administrator.
The role will be based primarily at our Rotherwas recycling facility, one of the largest waste recycling operations in Herefordshire.
The weighbridge is a central control point for the site. You will record vehicle movements, materials and weights accurately, complete the required documentation and provide administrative support to the operational team.
Key responsibilities
- Operating the site weighbridge safely and accurately.
- Recording all vehicles entering and leaving the facility.
- Recording weights, material types and grades.
- Producing weighbridge tickets, purchase tickets and other required documentation.
- Checking and maintaining accurate electronic and paper records.
- Entering information into the company’s weighing and management systems.
- Dealing professionally with customers, suppliers, drivers and members of the public.
- Responding to telephone and email enquiries.
- Communicating with site management and operational colleagues throughout the day.
- Supporting compliance with waste-management, scrap-metal and operator-licensing requirements.
- Collating information for management, commercial and environmental reporting.
- Completing general administration, filing and record-keeping duties.
- Providing occasional cover at other Wye Valley Group facilities when required.
Full training will be provided on our weighbridge systems, internal procedures and relevant regulatory requirements.
About you
You should be:
- Confident using computers, including Microsoft Office.
- Numerate, literate and comfortable working with detailed information.
- Accurate and methodical, with strong attention to detail.
- Organised and able to manage several tasks and interruptions simultaneously.
- Professional and approachable when dealing with customers and drivers.
- A clear communicator who works well with operational teams.
- Reliable, enthusiastic and willing to learn.
Previous weighbridge, waste, recycling, transport or administrative experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
