Kitchen Assistant

Saltburn Golf Club are looking for a reliable and hardworking individual to join their friendly team.

We are looking for someone who can work weekends and events

Responsibilities:

· Assist in the preparation of meals, including chopping, slicing and cooking as directed by the chef

· Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen, adhering to all food safety and health and safety regulations.

· Working independently to prepare and cook some basic meals in the chef’s absence (full training will be given).

· Keeping work stations and surfaces clean and tidy and clean all kitchen areas as per cleaning schedule.

· Ensure all kitchen equipment and utensils are washed up after service, utilizing the dishwasher as appropriate.

· Assist in the monitoring and recording of refrigerator temperatures

· Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth operations

· Participate in inventory management by assisting in receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring that stock is rotated effectively.

· Carve and serve meat from a carvery as required

The ideal candidate will have:

· Experience working in a similar industry such as food service, catering or hospitality

· A passion for food and hospitality

· Previous food handling experience

· Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment

· Confident to work independently to prepare simple dishes

· Familiarity with meal preparation techniques and food safety practices

Qualifications

· Previous experience of working in a kitchen

· Knowledge of food safety regulations

· Level 2 food hygiene certificate would be an advantage
