TEAM MANAGER
Job Purpose:
The Team Manager will play a critical role in supporting the Registered Manager in ensuring that the supported accommodation service complies with all Ofsted regulations. This position requires leadership in overseeing day-to-day operations, managing a team of support staff and auxiliary staff, ensuring high-quality care for young people, and maintaining the safety, well-being, and development of residents aged 16-21 in a supported accommodation setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Service Leadership and Management:
- Assist the Registered Manager in the day-to-day management of the supported accommodation service.
- Ensure the service operates in line with Ofsted regulations and meets the required standards.
- Deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager, ensuring continuity of care and operations.
- Support the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and protocols that ensure high-quality care and Ofsted compliance.
- Help to manage rotas, ensuring that the service is adequately staffed at all times.
- Ensure that staff adhere to safeguarding protocols, and health and safety procedures are in place.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure the service remains compliant with Ofsted regulations, taking a lead role in inspections and preparing the service for visits.
- Contribute to maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in line with Ofsted, including support plans, risk assessments, and incident reports.
- Support quality audits and address any areas for improvement in collaboration with the Registered Manager.
- Assist in creating action plans following Ofsted inspections, ensuring timely implementation of required changes.
- Keep up-to-date with changes to legislation, regulations, and guidance from Ofsted.
Support for Young People:
- Ensure the accommodation is a safe, nurturing environment for young people, promoting their independence, well-being, and development.
- Develop and maintain effective care plans in collaboration with young people, staff, and external agencies.
- Promote a person-centred approach to care, ensuring the young people’s voices are heard, and their individual needs are met.
- Work with external agencies (e.g., social services, education providers) to ensure holistic care for each young person.
Team Management and Development:
- Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of seniors & support staff, fostering a positive working environment.
- Ensure that staff are supported through regular supervisions, appraisals, and team meetings.
- Identify training and development needs of staff, ensuring that they are equipped to meet the needs of the young people and comply with Ofsted standards.
- Participate in staff recruitment, training, and induction processes.
Safeguarding and Risk Management:
- Take a proactive role in safeguarding young people, ensuring that all staff understand and follow safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Support in managing risk, completing regular risk assessments, and ensuring action is taken to mitigate any identified risks.
- Ensure that all incidents, concerns, or allegations are reported and addressed promptly in line with safeguarding policies.
Administration:
- Oversee administrative tasks, ensuring all paperwork, reports, and records are maintained in accordance with Ofsted requirements.
Person Specification:
Qualifications:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services (or working towards it).
- Safeguarding Level 3 (or higher).
- First Aid Trained
- Other relevant qualifications in social care, childcare, or youth work are desirable.
Experience:
- Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a supported accommodation or care setting.
- Experience working with young people aged 16-21 with complex needs, including emotional, behavioural, or mental health issues.
- Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and inspection frameworks.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Comprehensive understanding of safeguarding legislation and procedures.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Ability to manage, motivate, and supervise a team effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with young people, staff, and external agencies.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.

Pay: £29,500.00-£30,000.00 per year
