Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Practitioner to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental needs through engaging activities and personalised care. All candidates must have NNEC, HNC or SVQ Level 3 in Childcare Job Role is Monday to Friday 38 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development
- Supervise and support children during play, learning, and mealtime routines
- Foster a safe and inclusive environment that encourages curiosity and independence
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily activities
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure high standards of childcare and education are upheld
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's development and wellbeing
- Assist in organising daily routines, outings, and special events within the nursery setting
- Support the management team in implementing policies and procedures related to child safety and welfare
- Demonstrate leadership by guiding junior staff members and contributing to team meetings
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood education setting is highly desirable
- Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Knowledge of childcare regulations, safeguarding policies, and early childhood development principles
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for organising outings or home visits
- A caring attitude with patience, empathy, and enthusiasm for working with young children
