Provide an expert specialised stone service in Urology that positively impacts on the experience of patients with renal/ureteric stones.
Provide clinical support, expert care and clinical leadership to support patients undergoing clinical investigations, diagnostic tests and surgery
Support faster diagnosis and improved outcomes for patients with renal stones.
Provide improved care and support for patients undergoing emergency pathway stone treatment e.g. ESWL or surgery
To provide comprehensive links and communication with community to ensure streamline patient care
Undertake nurse led clinics for assessment of patients with renal stones and request relevant ongoing tests and imaging.
Work closely alongside Consultant body to ensure patients are on appropriate treatment pathway and receiving high standards of patient care.
Maintenance and monitoring of ureteric stent register for Trust
Monitor pathway for patients admitted under emergency pathway with ureteric stones and follow up to ensure timely imaging is conducted and necessary ongoing care e.g. surgery or ESWL is booked and undertaken
Provide nurse led follow up for patients receiving treatment for their renal stones ensuring safe recovery and ongoing safe discharge and safety netting.
To deliver evidence based care in line with local and NICE guidelines to support improved care performance
