Role Overview
The Solar Panel Installer is responsible for the safe, efficient, and high-quality installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for residential and commercial customers. Working as part of the installation team, you will ensure every project is completed to the highest standards while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining full compliance with health, safety, and industry regulations.
Key ResponsibilitiesInstallation
- Install solar PV panels on pitched and flat roofs in accordance with design specifications.
- Install mounting systems, roof fixings, rails, and solar modules.
- Assist with the installation of inverters, battery storage systems, and associated equipment where required.
- Safely route and secure DC cabling from the roof to the inverter location.
- Complete installations efficiently while maintaining exceptional workmanship.
Site Preparation
- Load and unload materials and equipment.
- Carry out pre-installation site assessments.
- Ensure all tools, equipment, and materials are available before work begins.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
Health & Safety
- Follow all company health and safety procedures.
- Work safely at height using appropriate fall protection equipment.
- Complete risk assessments and adhere to method statements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant electrical and construction safety regulations.
- Report any hazards, incidents, or near misses promptly.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure all installations meet company quality standards.
- Carry out visual inspections throughout the installation process.
- Report any design or site issues to the project manager.
- Assist in resolving installation challenges on site.
Customer Service
- Represent Project Green Group professionally at all times.
- Communicate clearly and courteously with customers.
- Explain the installation process and answer customer questions where appropriate.
- Respect customers' homes and businesses by maintaining a tidy work area.
Teamwork
- Work closely with electricians, project coordinators, and other installers.
- Support colleagues to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
- Assist with training new team members when required.
Skills & Experience
- Experience installing solar PV systems is preferred.
- Experience working at height and on roofs.
- Good understanding of construction site safety.
- Ability to use power tools and installation equipment safely.
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Full UK driving licence preferred.
Qualifications
- Working at Height training (preferred).
- Manual Handling training.
- CSCS Card (preferred).
- PASMA or IPAF certification (advantageous).
- Solar PV installation experience or relevant industry training is desirable.
- First Aid at Work qualification (advantageous).

Pay: £24,420.00-£52,956.93 per year
