The Butterfly Project is looking for a positive and flexible Support Worker to join our award-winning Day Centre and Community Services team. This is a varied, rewarding role where every day brings new opportunities to help the people we support build confidence, develop independence, achieve personal goals and enjoy meaningful experiences.
About the role
You will support adults with learning disabilities across our Day Centre, community-based services and activities. Working alongside our friendly and experienced team, you will help deliver engaging sessions and enable individuals to make the most of every day.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting fun, creative and engaging sessions at our Day Centre
- Helping individuals develop practical, social and independence skills
- Supporting people to work towards their personal goals and ambitions
- Enabling individuals to access activities, appointments and opportunities within the community
- Encouraging choice, confidence, inclusion and independence
- Supporting evening, weekend and respite activities when required
- Driving our minibuses, cars and mobility vehicles as part of our transport provision
- Working closely with colleagues, families and other professionals to provide high-quality, person-centred support
There may also be opportunities to support activity-based and cultural respite trips across the UK and overseas. Previous destinations have included Cornwall, the Lake District, the Isle of Wight and Morocco, with future adventures planned to destinations including South Africa and Japan.

- Holds a full UK driving licence and is confident driving a range of vehicles
Experience within health and social care would be beneficial, but it is not essential. If you have the right attitude, values and commitment, we will provide comprehensive training and ongoing support.

Working hours
This is a full-time, permanent position.
Hours are predominantly worked between Monday and Saturday, with shifts falling between 7:30am and 9:00pm. Most day-service hours are between 8:00am and 5:00pm, with some evening, weekend and respite opportunities.
