Introduction
Council for Mosques Bradford & District is seeking a reliable, organised and discreet Board Secretary to support the effective governance of the organisation.
This part-time role will provide high-quality administrative and governance support to the Board of Directors and Executive, ensuring meetings are well organised, records are accurate, actions are tracked and governance processes are followed effectively.
The Role
· Coordinate Board and Executive meetings, including dates, venues and meeting logistics.
· Prepare, compile and circulate agendas, reports and meeting papers in advance.
· Attend meetings and produce accurate draft minutes within agreed timescales.
· Maintain action logs, track progress and update the Board on agreed actions.
· Maintain Board records, governance documents, policies, registers and document repositories.
· Support Directors with governance administration and organisational compliance requirements.
· Act as a first point of contact for Board correspondence and routine governance enquiries.
· Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive organisational information.
About You
· Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
· Experience of minute taking and producing accurate meeting records.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· High level of attention to detail and good judgement.
· Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
· Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook, Excel and Teams.
· Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and communicate effectively with volunteers, Directors and external stakeholders.
· Previous experience in a charity, voluntary or faith-based organisation would be advantageous.
Time Commitment
Approximately 10 hours per month, including attendance at scheduled Board and Executive meetings. Some evening meetings may be required.
