Activity Assistant
Duties:
- Assist in planning and implementing engaging activities for residents in a care setting
- Coordinate and facilitate group activities, such as games, crafts, and outings
- Provide one-on-one support and companionship to residents who may have limited mobility or cognitive abilities
- Assist with setting up and cleaning activity areas before and after each session
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback
- Collaborate with the activity coordinator and other staff members to develop new ideas for activities
- Role will incorporate working every other weekend
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a care or recreational setting is preferred but not essential
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with elderly individuals
- Ability to adapt activities to meet the needs and abilities of residents with varying levels of physical or cognitive function
- Basic knowledge of safety protocols and infection control measures in a care setting
