Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our vibrant team, serving coffees, milkshakes and smoothies from our horsebox based on Polzeath beach. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons. This role involves preparing high-quality beverages, maintaining cleanliness standards, and ensuring a smooth operation during busy periods. Successful candidates will be required to work alone due to the small size of the horsebox, with support and guidance from management at all times. Previous experience in a similar role is very advantageous but not essential, training will be provided. A keen eye for detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure are essential qualities for success in this position. Please note this is a seasonal role, starting immediately until September 2026, opportunities will also be available for following seasons. Candidates will be required to be self employed. Pay rate will be dependent on experience and skill, and will be discussed during the interview process.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, smoothies and milkshakes, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, providing friendly and attentive service.
- Handle cash transactions and operate the POS system with precision.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and customer areas in accordance with food safety standards.
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth service during busy hours.
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers.
- Engage with customers to enhance their experience, fostering a welcoming atmosphere.
Requirements
- Previous Barista experience is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures is desirable.
- Experience in serving customers in a fast-paced environment is advantageous.
- Basic food preparation skills are beneficial.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently during peak times.
- Good basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
- Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and customers.
- Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends if required.
