SEND Support Worker – Holiday Activity Camp (Southwark)
Lively Sprout Community CIC is recruiting enthusiastic, experienced staff to support children and young people with additional needs at our holiday activity camp, based at Keyworth Primary School, Southwark.
We're looking for people who are confident working with children who may need extra support with personal care, communication, or sensory regulation, and who can help create a safe, inclusive, and fun environment for every child.
About the role:
You'll work as part of a small team delivering our Crafty Kids Club programme, supporting children aged 5–11 across a range of activities including arts and crafts, teamwork challenges, and creative sessions. Some children may require one-to-one or close support throughout the day.
What we're looking for:
Experience supporting children with autism, sensory processing needs, or learning disabilities. Calm, patient approach and ability to use visual supports or alternative communication methods. A genuine passion for inclusive play and youth development.
Desirable (training will be provided where needed):
Makaton, PECS, or other alternative communication training. Autism awareness training. Paediatric first aid and Epi-Pen training. Experience using sensory or quiet spaces with children who need them.
Hours and pay:
£17–£20/hour depending on experience. 5 hours/day, Monday–Thursday (Week 1 Tuesday–Friday). Dates: 21–24 July, 27–30 Jul, 3–6 August, 10–13 August. Minimum commitment of two consecutive weeks preferred; ad hoc availability also welcome.
A DBS check and relevant safeguarding training will be required (support provided for staff who don't yet hold this).
