The Food Services Assistant plays an important role in bringing these values to life by delivering a high-quality dining experience that enhances residents' wellbeing and enjoyment of daily life. Working closely with the wider team, the Food Services Assistant will ensure that meals are served with professionalism, warmth and attention to detail, while supporting residents to dine with dignity, choice and independence. Through a compassionate and person-centred approach, they will help create a welcoming atmosphere where exceptional care is complemented by outstanding hospitality.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide a warm, welcoming and professional dining experience for residents, families and visitors.
- Serve meals, snacks and refreshments in accordance with residents' preferences, dietary requirements and care needs.
- Support residents to dine comfortably, promoting dignity, independence and choice wherever possible.
- Build positive relationships with residents and take time to understand their individual preferences and routines.
- Create a pleasant and inviting dining environment that encourages social interaction and enjoyment.
- Ensure dining areas are presented to a high standard at all times.
- Prepare dining rooms and service areas before meal periods and restore them afterwards.
- Demonstrate flexibility in supporting the wider team, undertaking reasonable kitchen, dining and service duties as required to ensure the smooth operation of the home and the delivery of an exceptional resident experience.
- Support the delivery of hospitality services for events, celebrations and special occasions.
- Respond promptly and professionally to resident requests and feedback.
- Contribute to a culture of exceptional customer service and resident satisfaction.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across all departments.
- Communicate effectively regarding residents' dietary requirements, preferences and wellbeing needs.
- Support a positive, respectful and professional working environment.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and infection prevention.
- Follow all food safety procedures, policies and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure safe handling, storage and service of food and beverages.
- Support health and safety practices within dining and service areas.
- Report any concerns relating to resident wellbeing, food safety or service delivery.
