We are looking for a motivated and reliable Quality Controller to join our friendly team in a busy apple processing factory.
Previous experience in Quality Control or the food manufacturing industry is preferred; however, full training will be provided for the right candidate. We are looking for someone with a strong quality mindset, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high food safety and quality standards.

Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- Day Shift starting at 7:00am
- Overtime will be required during seasonal busy periods to meet business demands.
The ideal candidate will be:
- Reliable and punctual
- Flexible and willing to work overtime when required
- Detail-oriented with good organisational skills
- Comfortable working in a chilled food production environment
- Able to complete paperwork accurately
- Willing to assist with general factory duties, including cleaning and other production tasks when required
- Previous QC or food manufacturing experience is desirable but not essential
Key Responsibilities
As a Quality Controller, your duties will include:
- Carrying out start-up quality checks, including Critical Control Point (CCP) and Hard Plastic inspections.
- Performing product weight checks.
- Calibrating quality testing equipment, including:
- pH Meter
- Refractometer
- Penetrometer
- Weighing scales
- Recording dip tank temperatures and dwell times.
- Recording preservative batch codes.
- Completing start-up and hourly Metal Detector verification checks.
- Carrying out quality inspections on diced, sliced and prepared apples in line with customer specifications.
- Testing preservative concentrations, including Ascorbic Acid and SO₂, to customer specifications.
- Conducting pulp quality testing.
- Preparing and changing ascorbic dip solutions.
- Completing daily dip changes.
- Recording all quality checks accurately on company quality documentation.
- Carrying out incubation trials and recording results using company computer systems.
- Filing quality documentation accurately.
- Preparing and sending Certificates of Conformity (COCs) to customers.
- Monitoring and recording Controlled Atmosphere (CA) store temperatures.
- Monitoring and recording chilled storage temperatures.
- Supporting continuous improvement of food safety, quality and hygiene standards.
- Assisting production and hygiene teams with additional duties when required.
