Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Cook to join our friendly team at a traditional Samuel Smith's pub in the stunning village of Harewood (in between Leeds and Harrogate).
This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys cooking quality, honest pub food without the pressure of a high-end or fast-paced restaurant kitchen. You'll be preparing classic pub favourites, following established recipes and specifications, while maintaining excellent food safety and hygiene standards.
Whether you're an experienced cook or someone with a solid background in a pub, café or similar kitchen, we'd love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook and present traditional pub meals to a consistently high standard.
- Follow recipe specifications and portion controls to ensure quality and consistency.
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and food safety standards at all times.
- Keep the kitchen clean, organised and compliant with health and safety requirements.
- Assist with stock rotation, deliveries and basic inventory control.
- Work closely with the management team to ensure smooth day-to-day kitchen operations.
- Ensure all equipment is used safely and cleaned correctly.
Experience
- Previous experience working as a cook or chef in a pub, café or similar kitchen.
- A passion for preparing simple, well-cooked food.
- Good knowledge of food hygiene and food safety practices.
- The ability to follow recipes and specifications accurately.
- A reliable, organised and positive approach to work.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a small team.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required.
What We Offer
- Hourly paid for 40 hours per week on average
- A friendly, supportive working environment.
- A role with a sensible workload and good work-life balance compared with many busy restaurant kitchens.
- The opportunity to become part of a long-established and respected pub company.
If you enjoy cooking traditional pub classics, take pride in producing consistently good food, and are looking for a kitchen where quality and organisation matter more than fine dining or high-pressure service, we'd love to hear from you.
Pay: £26,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
