Overview
We are looking for an experienced Cook to join our Nursery team. The working hours are 9am to 4:30 Monday to Friday, all year round. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring our kitchen operates smoothly, high quality food is served, dietary needs and preferences are catered for.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and menus.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
- Work with the kitchen assistant to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly.
- Monitor food stock levels and assist with ordering, budgets and stock rotation.
- Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas regularly.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations while working in the kitchen environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a nursery or similar setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation.
- Strong culinary skills with an ability to follow recipes accurately.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills.
