We are looking for a compassionate Dental Nurse to join our community‑focused mobile dental team. This role is ideal for nurses who enjoy working independently, supporting vulnerable patients, and delivering high‑quality care outside of a traditional practice environment.
You will assist the dentist in providing essential dental services to care homes across the Manchester area, using fully portable dental equipment. This is a rewarding role supporting elderly and housebound patients who struggle to access routine dental care .
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist in delivering dental care to residents in care homes
- Prepare, maintain, and organise dental instruments, materials, and portable equipment
- Set up, sterilise, and pack down equipment at each location
- Ensure strict compliance with infection‑prevention and control standards
- Support the dentist with clinical notes and treatment documentation
- Ensure patient comfort, dignity, and safety throughout all visits
- Manage stock levels and ensure safe transportation of equipment
- Liaise professionally with care home managers and staff to coordinate appointments
- Follow safeguarding, confidentiality, and data‑protection protocols
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to post‑visit reporting
Role Details
- Pick up and drop off portable dental kit in Bolton
- Standard full‑day hours: 9am–5pm
- Flexible working pattern: choose full days or half‑days
- Morning half‑day: kit pick‑up
- Afternoon half‑day: kit drop‑off
- 1–3 days per week (permanent part‑time)
- 1‑hour break during full‑day shifts
Requirements
- Qualified Dental Nurse
- GDC registration
- Experience using Dentally (preferred)
- CPD, immunisation, infection‑control training, enhanced DBS, indemnity
- Full UK driving licence + access to a car
- Compassionate, patient‑focused approach
- Able to work independently and adapt to different environments
