Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance a young female individual with epilepsy. The role involves supporting the client with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and promoting their independence. Candidates should possess a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people's lives and be committed to delivering person-centred care. Responsibilities
- Provide personalised support to clients in their own home and out in the community
- Assist with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Administer medication in accordance with prescribed instructions and organisational policies
- Support clients with meal preparation and feeding as required
- Manage behaviour effectively, especially in cases involving epilepsy and autism
- Offer emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Drive clients when necessary for appointments or outings (driving responsibilities)
- Respond promptly to emergency situations using first aid skills when needed
- Support clients with specialised needs related to hospice or palliative care
Experience
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or home care is advantageous
- Knowledge of patient care practices, including medication administration and behaviour management
- Familiarity with caregiving tasks such as personal care, meal preparation, and supporting out in the community is desirable
- Certification or training in first aid and the care certificate is preferred but not essential; training can be provided during onboarding
- Valid driving licence and ownership of a vehicle is essential for roles involving client transportation
