As our business continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Fire Stopping Supervisor to lead our site teams, maintain exceptional standards and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and right first time.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys leading from the front, supporting their team and taking pride in delivering high-quality workmanship.
The Role
As Fire Stopping Supervisor, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of fire stopping projects on site. You'll lead and motivate operatives, plan daily activities, monitor progress and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the high standards our clients expect.
Working closely with the Fire Stopping Technical Manager and Project Coordinator, you'll ensure projects run smoothly from start to finish whilst maintaining excellent customer service and health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
You'll be responsible for:
- Leading and supervising fire stopping operatives on site.
- Planning and organising daily work activities.
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within programme.
- Monitoring productivity and quality throughout the working day.
- Carrying out quality inspections and ensuring a right first-time approach.
- Maintaining excellent housekeeping and site standards.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, company procedures and RAMS.
- Managing labour, materials and equipment efficiently.
- Coaching and developing operatives to improve performance and workmanship.
- Acting as the main point of contact for clients and residents on site.
- Carrying out site surveys and identifying technical or programme risks.
- Supporting continuous improvement across the Fire Stopping team.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience supervising fire stopping or passive fire protection teams.
- Has strong knowledge of fire stopping products, installation methods and industry standards.
- Can organise people and resources effectively.
- Leads by example and sets high standards.
- Has excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Is committed to delivering quality workmanship.
- Can build positive relationships with clients, colleagues and residents.
- Is organised, proactive and able to make decisions confidently.
Essential Requirements
- Previous supervisory experience within fire stopping, passive fire protection or a similar construction environment.
- Good understanding of health and safety legislation and safe systems of work.
- Ability to read drawings and specifications.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills.
Desirable
- NVQ in Passive Fire Protection (or equivalent).
- SSSTS or SMSTS.
- CSCS Card.
- First Aid at Work qualification.
- Asbestos Awareness.
- Experience of occupied residential and commercial environments.
