Job Overview
Hours available between 20 - 40 per week: Shifts are rotated Monday - Sunday between the hours of 8am - 11pm, waking and sleep in nights.
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Community Support Workers / Carers to provide high-quality support and assistance to individuals within their homes, in the community as part of social inclusion and other settings such as the 'hub' , respite or commuting to and from school drop offs.
This role involves supporting clients with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience in support work with children 13 +, adults with additional needs and some challenging behaviours, and possess a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people's lives. All positions are paid and require a commitment to delivering respectful, person-centred support.
Responsibilities
- Assisting clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Supporting individuals with mobility and movement, as per individual care plans and assessments
- Preparing nutritious meals tailored to dietary requirements
- Administering medication in accordance with prescribed instructions
- Providing companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
- Managing behaviour and implementing care plans for clients with learning disabilities and or mental health challenges
- Assisting with activities of daily living in their own homes, promoting independent skills
- Driving clients to appointments or social activities as needed
- Monitoring health status and reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals
- Maintaining accurate records of care provided and client progress
Skills
- Experience in a community support setting or school.
- Knowledge of medication administration and first aid procedures
- Strong caregiving skills with a focus on client safety and dignity
- Ability to manage behavioural challenges compassionately and effectively
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Physical capability assisting with mobility needs and physical activities
- Reliable driving skills for transporting clients safely
- Organisation skills for managing multiple clients’ needs efficiently
- Childcare experience is a plus for supporting families with young children in the community
