HGV Class 1 (C+E) Tramper Driver – Permanent Position
Location: Woolpit, Suffolk
Employment: Full-time, permanent contract directly with Jagelo Haulage Limited
Take-home pay: Approximately £750 per week paid into your bank after PAYE tax and National Insurance, before any NEST pension contribution
Night outs: Up to four per week

Jagelo Haulage Limited is an established transport company operating from our depot in Woolpit, Suffolk. We specialise in container haulage and provide reliable transport services throughout the UK.
We are recruiting an experienced HGV Class 1 tramper driver to join our team permanently. This is a direct position with Jagelo Haulage - not temporary or agency work.
The Role
The successful candidate must be prepared to complete up to four nights out per week and will be responsible for collecting and delivering containers safely, professionally and on schedule.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Safely operating an HGV Class 1 articulated vehicle
- Collecting and delivering containers throughout the UK
- Completing up to four nights out per week
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting defects promptly
- Securing containers correctly and complying with all transport regulations
- Following drivers’ hours and Working Time Directive requirements
- Maintaining accurate paperwork and delivery records
- Communicating with our transport team regarding progress, delays or other issues
- Representing Jagelo Haulage professionally when dealing with customers and port staff
- Keeping the allocated vehicle clean and in good condition
Requirements
Applicants must have:
- A valid UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving licence
- A valid Driver CPC
- A valid Digital Tachograph Card
- A good understanding of drivers’ hours and road transport regulations
- A professional, reliable and safety-conscious attitude
- The ability and willingness to complete up to four nights out per week
- The right to work in the UK
Previous container haulage and port experience would be advantageous.
