We are looking for a hands-on and dependable Food and Beverage Supervisor to join our team Pinewood Hotel, Slough.
This is a great opportunity for someone with food and beverage or hospitality experience who enjoys being part of the operation, leading from the front and making sure guests receive a warm welcome and great service.
The role
As Food and Beverage Supervisor, you will be ready to assist our Food and Beverage Manager in planning events, Running the restaurant, planning rotas, motivating the team making sure the restaurant is ready on time, the team knows what they're doing and service runs smoothly from start to finish.
You'll work closely with our Food and Beverage Manager, Kitchen and Reception teams to understand hotel occupancy, coach and group arrangements and guest requirements, so that the team is prepared for the day ahead.
This is a practical, hands-on role. You'll be visible during service, supporting the team, responding to guests and stepping in wherever you're needed.
You'll also support dinner, bar and function services from time to time and provide planned cover when the Food and Beverage Manager is away.
What you'll be doing
- Leading breakfast and lunch service from preparation through to close-down
- Briefing the team and allocating duties so everyone knows what they need to do
- Keeping an eye on service flow, food availability and table turnaround and dealing with issues before they become problems
- Making sure guests receive friendly, efficient and attentive service
- Working closely with the Kitchen and Reception teams to plan for occupancy, coach groups and guest requirements
- Supporting and coaching colleagues during service
- Leading from the front and pitching in wherever needed, including laying and clearing tables, waiting on guests, resetting the restaurant and helping with other practical service tasks
- Helping to manage labour, stock and waste carefully
- Maintaining high standards of food safety, allergen awareness, cleanliness and health and safety
- Dealing confidently with routine guest requests and concerns
- Making sure the restaurant is left clean, organised and ready for the next service
- Supporting other food and beverage services, including dinner, bar and functions, when required
What we're looking for
You don't necessarily need to have held the title of Food and Beverage Supervisor before. We're interested in someone who has good hospitality experience and is ready to take responsibility for leading a service or shift.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience working in a busy hotel, restaurant, café or food and beverage environment
- Experience taking responsibility during a service or shift and organising the work of others
- Good food hygiene and allergen awareness
- Confidence dealing with guests and resolving day-to-day service issues
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- A calm, practical approach when things get busy
- The confidence to give colleagues clear direction while remaining approachable and supportive
- A hands-on approach and willingness to lead from the front, pitching in with practical service tasks whenever needed
- Flexibility to provide cover and support across other food and beverage services when required
- A genuine commitment to providing a great guest experience
Previous supervisory experience, particularly within a hotel or high-volume operation, would be an advantage but isn't essential.
Hours of work
Simply, you need to be flexible we run a 365 day a year business, with early breakfast service to late finishes sometimes after 2am - so you need to be preparied and flexible for this.
Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour
